Was Fox's Tucker Carlson speaking about his colleague Jesse Watters when he quipped, "'Paternity leave,' they call it. Trying to figure out how to breastfeed. No word on how that went."

Watters, who has his own Fox show and is a regular on "The Five," explained how he "now supports paid paternity leave following the birth of his third child this month," reported The Hill earlier this year.

"Now I am pro-paternity. I used to mock people for taking paternity, I used to think it was a big ruse, but now, ya know, I wish I could take six weeks," he said on "The Five."

Watch Tucker Carlson's comments on Pete Buttigieg at approximately the 7:50 mark in this clip.

But it wasn't his colleague that Carlson was shading. It was Secretary of Transportation Pete Buttigieg, writes The Wrap.

"Carlson's one-liner drew immediate ire and commentators swiftly defended Buttigieg and his husband, Chasten, who adopted twins late this summer."

MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle tweeted: "Did @TuckerCarlson mock his own @FoxNews colleagues in the same fashion?"

Commentator Joe Walsh gave it a Mano a Mano twist: "Pete Buttigieg could kick Tucker Carlson's ass."

And commentator S.E. Cupp offered a different take on breastfeeding: "Very weird to mock paternity leave — which is so valuable — as merely "breastfeeding," when these guys can't stop sucking at the Trump teat."

The slamming of Carlson didn't stop there, adds The Wrap.

"Others criticized Carlson for emasculating a veteran, posting photos of Buttigieg in his military uniform," The Wrap wrote. "VoteVets, an organization that works to get former servicemembers elected, tweeted, 'Tucker belittles a Navy vet for being a good dad, throwing not-so-thinly veiled homophobic jabs, and lying through his teeth about current affairs.'"

The account added that Carlson is "pathetic."
