Smart is sexy: People magazine has selected out MSNBC anchor Steve Kornacki to its 2020 "Sexiest Men Alive" list, along with hunks like Michael B. Jordan (who claimed the prize of "Sexiest Man"), Brad Pitt, and, of course, Chris Evans.

"Never before have khakis and a striped tie gotten so many hot under the (Oxford) collar," People raved. "The MSNBC journalist's tireless coverage tracking the long post-election day vote tallying process earned him the title of "Chartthrob,' " with even his wonky wardrobe making an impression; People noted that Gap saw a surge in sales of the khaki trousers Kornacki wore on the air.

Nor were Kornacki's khakis the only fashion statement that inspired a response among viewers. Political news outlet The Hill noted that "Twitter users also heavily lobbied the correspondent to donate his frayed election-coverage necktie, which was held together by staples, to the Smithsonian Institution."

People noted that celebrity viewers such as Chrissy Teigen and Leslie Jones were among the legions of adoring fans who stuck with Kornacki as he pulled a marathon of tracking election results in the days after the Nov. 3 election, keeping viewers up to speed with his explanations of the changing electoral map. Reports said Kornacki barely slept as the results came in, but he remained energetic and engaged as viewers fell in love with him and clips of his broadcasts went viral.
