Acclaimed Troupe Bedlam Brings 'The Crucible' to Cambridge Prior to New York

From September 12 - October 13, 2019, The Nora Theatre Company in association with Bedlam presents Arthur Miller's "The Crucible."

1692. Salem, Massachusetts. Mass hysteria has consumed the town after Reverend Samuel Parris' daughter and other girls have been discovered dancing naked in the woods with whispers of witchcraft running wild. Bedlam Artistic Director Eric Tucker helms Arthur Miller's American classic that asks the question "in a culture in which power resides in the hands of men — who do you believe?"

"The Crucible" is the work of legendary American playwright Arthur Miller, winner of the Pulitzer Prize for "Death of a Salesman" (1949). Mr. Miller's other major works include "All My Sons" (1947), "A View from the Bridge" (1955), and "After the Fall" (1964). He twice won the New York Drama Critics Circle Award, received two Emmy awards and three Tony Awards for his plays, as well as a Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement.

Eric Tucker will direct "The Crucible." Named Director of the Year in 2014 by the Wall Street Journal, Mr. Tucker is the Artistic Director of Bedlam who will bring Bedlam will bring "The Crucible" Off Broadway in November 2019. Previously at Central Square Theater, Mr. Tucker has directed in the Bedlam productions of "Saint Joan," "Twelfth Night and What You Will," and most recently, "Pygmalion." Additionally, he has directed "Copenhagen" and Tina Packer's "Women of Will."

The cast of "The Crucible" includes Joshua Wolf Coleman, Truett Felt, Eliza Rose Fichter, Caroline Grogan, David Keohane, Susannah Millonzi, Ryan Quinn, Randolph Curtis Rand, Michael Dwan Singh, Stewart Evan Smith, Eric Tucker, Dayenne CB Walters and Karina Wen. The design team is Lindsay Fuori (Scenic & Properties Designer), Elizabeth Rocha (Costume Designer), and John Malinowski (Lighting Designer). Brian M. Robillard is the Stage Manager and L. Arkansas Light is the Assistant Stage Manager.
