In an update to the story of Alibi Lounge's Pride flags being burned, police have released new footage showing an individual lighting the flags on fire. This appears to confirm that the flags were intentionally lit in what police are calling a hate crime, according to ABC7 New York.

The surveillance footage shows the person taking a lighter to the two flags outside the Harlem gay club on the eve of Pride month shortly after midnight. Police are continuing to search for the person responsible, and have taken the charred flags in as evidence for the ongoing investigation.

The day after the flag burning, a large group of people rallied outside the Alibi lounge to show their support and to restate the message of Pride month: Love overcomes hate.
