Food Network Star to Host "A Taste of Home" at Housing Works Bookstore Café

On March 29, 2011, Housing Works Bookstore Caf� will host "A Taste of Home: A Chef Tasting and Benefit Party," with Alex Guarnaschelli, Executive Chef of Butter Restaurant, and the host of Food Network's Alex's Day Off.

Housing Works Bookstore Caf� will be the locale for A Taste of Home, a benefit hosted by Alex Guarnaschelli, Executive Chef of Butter Restaurant and The Darby , and host of Food Network's Alex's Day Off.

Housing Works Bookstore Caf� is one of downtown New York's most vital cultural institutions, presenting an eclectic mix of events - from readings and concerts to comedy nights and storytelling competitions - featuring many of today's most exciting artists.

The bookstore is staffed almost entirely by volunteers and 100% of its profits go to Housing Works, Inc., which provides housing, healthcare, job training, and advocacy for New Yorkers living with HIV/AIDS. As an independent cultural center, it offers patrons a unique opportunity to join the fight against AIDS and homelessness simply by buying or donating books; eating at the cafe; coming to concerts, readings, and special events; or volunteering.

"A Taste of Home" will also feature food by:

    Enjoy an exclusive tasting by five exceptional chefs at the historic Bookstore Cafe. This festive evening also includes:

    When: Tuesday, March 29 at 7pm, VIP hour from 6pm to 7pm

    Price: $65 per standard ticket, $100 VIP ticket includes a private hour (6-7pm) to mingle with the chefs over wine and cheese.

    Housing Works Members may purchase standard tickets for $50. Membership cards will be required at the door.
