New York Celebs to Join Thom Browne to Fight AIDS at Upcoming Fashion for Action

NEW YORK, NY - Housing Works will host its highly anticipated ninth annual Fashion for Action fundraiser on November 7th 2012. Fashion for Action is a five-day charitable designer shopping event that begins with a ticketed Opening Night Reception to raise funds for homeless and low- income New Yorkers living with HIV/AIDS.

Celebrated designer Thom Browne will return to the event as Honorary Chair with long-time supporter and friend, Oscar-nominated actress Patricia Clarkson. Model Dree Hemingway and Cat Greenleaf of Talk Stoop also join as Co-Chairs for opening night.

"It was a no-brainer be involved again this year," said Clarkson echoed by Browne who together chaired last year's most successful fundraiser to date. "We look forward to a great night for a good cause."

New York's own Cat Greenleaf was all smiles showing her enthusiasm by saying, "Retail activism is right up my alley! Every time I shop I get to feel good knowing that I'm helping people affected by AIDS right here in our community."

Held at the beautiful Altman Building in Chelsea, guests attending the ticketed Opening Night Reception will experience the perfect blend of style, shopping, and feel-good fundraising as guests enjoy cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and a silent auction.

VIP ticket holders will have advanced access to shop from more than $1 million worth of new, high-end apparel and beauty merchandise from hundreds of designers hosted by none other than stylist and casting maven, Natalie Joos.

Paper's own Mr. Mickey (Boardman that is) will also lend his style sense to a special collection of looks created especially for the event. A four-day public sale will follow at the Chelsea Thrift Shop November 8-11th.

All proceeds from Fashion for Action will benefit Housing Works lifesaving programs such as job training, medical and legal care, transgender services and counseling for men, women and youth living with or affected by homelessness and HIV/AIDS.
