The Saint At Large, gaydom's preeminent party, announces this year's Black Party theme: "Un-Holi Rites XXXV: A Ruined Paradise." will be held on Saturday night, March 22 until Sunday afternoon at Roseland Ballroom (239 West 52nd Street, NYC). DJ's will be announced at a later date.

Held on the weekend closest to the vernal equinox each year, this annual rite of spring celebration has firmly established itself as Gay New York's biggest night of the year.

This year's theme is inspired by the rich tradition and colorful culture of Holi, an ancient religious Hindu festival. The creative team will emblemize the reincarnation of a sacred temple through the passage of time.

The 35th edition is purportedly the last in a 24 year run at Roseland Ballroom as the fabled venue is schedule to be demolished later this Spring. There is a significant degree of cultural relevancy to The Saint at Large and the Black Party's residence at Roseland: It was the closing of The Saint, the most storied gay nightclub in history, which set an underground dance tribe searching for a new home against the widening AIDS crisis in 1991.

Played out as a 5-act opera set to a progressive electronic dance soundtrack and featuring its notorious Strange Live Acts, the Black Party consistently taps the zeitgeist for a fashion forward fetish clan eager to reveal its darkest fantasies at this one-night-only, no-holds barred bacchanalia. Renown for its ambitious productions, cutting-edge innovations and spectacular staging, the party stands alone as a spectacle, attracting attendees from around the globe longing to experience a slice of New York's heyday as the nightlife capital of the world.
