2nd Annual Red Hot & In Style: Benefitting Deliver the Dream

Kilian Melloy READ TIME: 3 MIN.

The second annual Red Hot & In Style event, brought to you by Deliver the Dream, will be held at The Manor Complex (2345 Wilton Drive, Wilton Manors) on Thursday, May 8, starting at 8 p.m. Proceeds raised will benefit families impacted by Deliver the Dream. The evening will be emceed by Joe Posa and J Malcolm Neitzey, with music by DJ Miik Martorell.

Red Hot & In Style is a bachelor and bachelorette auction featuring some of the community's hottest eligible men and women! At this event, you will have a chance to meet and mingle with all of the bachelors and bachelorettes participating, and you will get to hear about the date packages available. Bid on your favorite, take out someone gorgeous, and at the same time help families who have dealt with immense hardship and crisis regain a sense of normalcy in their lives.

Deliver the Dream has been serving all types of families since 2002. Their mission has always been to never define what makes a family and to just help all families who have one thing in common -- a child or a parent who is ill or going through a crisis.

You don't have to bid on one of the people on auction to do your part to give to Deliver the Dream. To attend the event, a $20 donation is requested at the door; this entitles you to entry, drink specials and complimentary appetizers.

MORE ABOUT DELIVER THE DREAM

Deliver the Dream is the fully-realized hope and dream of successful businesswoman Pat Moran. Deliver the Dream helps families who are dealing with serious illness or crisis by allowing them to participate in "family retreats," which, in their words, help the families in question "regain strength, mend spirits and become families and kids again." The retreats, which are given to the families at no cost, aid in the healing of not only the children, but also the extended family that has given so much of themselves in order to take care of their own. These retreats provide much-needed respite for everyone involved.

To get an idea of how much Deliver the Dream impacts families, perhaps it is best to hear from the families themselves. "Thank you for such a moving experience. It was such a joy to see all of the beautiful smiles," said one parent. "My children had a wonderful time, as well did we. The most memorable moments for me are the ones where I was able to see everyone's emotions in a real way. The happy laughs, uncomfortable smirks, and sad tears. We will cherish all that the staff and volunteers did to make this a special weekend for us."

"This weekend has meant so much for me and my family! With the loss of a child earlier this year, we really needed family bonding time," one mother wrote. "Thank you so much, Deliver the Dream, for a much-needed magical weekend!" Another writes, "I haven't seen my mother smile this much in a long time. For that I am so thankful!"

To be eligible to participate, families are referred to Deliver the Dream for consideration by the organization's statewide healthcare partners. These partners include Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital, Miami Children's Hospital, Wolfson's Children's Hospital, All Children's Hospital, Arnold Palmer Children's Hospital and Chris Evert Children's Hospital.

Hotspots Media Group is a proud sponsor of Red Hot & In Style, benefiting Deliver the Dream, alongside South Florida Gay News, Principal Financial Group, Neighborhood Market by Walmart, OutClique, Hot Flyers, Pride Factory, Isle Casino and Stonewall Summer Pride . If you have any questions regarding how to donate to Deliver the Dream, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, you can visit deliverthedream.org or you can call (954) 564-3512.
