Conservative Group Plans "MAGA Invasion" at Disneyland on Same Day as Long-Running LGBTQ+ Event

A conservative political group based in Santa Barbara, California, has announced plans for what they're calling a "MAGA Invasion" at Disneyland on February 28, 2026—the same day as Mini Gay Days, a long-standing LGBTQ+ community event at the theme park. The scheduling conflict has sparked attention across social media and LGBTQ+ news outlets, with the conservative organizers openly stating their intention to disrupt the LGBTQ+ gathering.

The group 805 Patriots has organized what they're calling "Patriots in the Park," scheduling it for the same date as the LGBTQ+ event. One organizer stated the purpose of the event is to "go have some fun by triggering as many liberals as possible" at Disneyland.

In a post on its Facebook page, 805 Patriots wrote: "Turns Out I Accidentally Planned this for a GAY Day Yall Have To Come Will Be Hilarious To Ruin Their Day! !"

This marks the first time any "MAGA Invasion" event has been planned at Disneyland.

Mini Gay Days is affiliated with Gay Days Anaheim, a group that continues a tradition of LGBTQ+ events at Disneyland dating back to the early 1990s. The Mini Gay Days event itself has been held since 2003.

Eddie Shapiro, producer for Gay Days Anaheim, told Theme Park Tribune: "There are no changes to our plans. Mini Gay Day will go on as it has since 2003. "

Neither event is sanctioned or organized by Disney itself.

Disneyland did not provide any comment on either event.

Disneyland has reiterated its rules banning flags, demonstrations, and disruptive attire.

The scheduled overlap of these two unofficial events highlights ongoing cultural tensions in public spaces. Both gatherings are fan-organized events not endorsed by Disney, yet they represent starkly different communities and stated purposes—one celebrating LGBTQ+ identity and community through a decades-long tradition, the other explicitly organized with the stated goal of disrupting that celebration.

The February 28, 2026 date remains scheduled for both events.
