Ice Spice Causes a Stir on Gay Twitter after Dragging a Fan for Editing New Album Cover

A gay fan thought he was doing Ice Spice a favor when he offered his idea of how to improve the artwork for her debut album, "Y2K," which is set to bow on July 26. The singer disagreed, though, and went after him. That's when Gay Twitter rose up.

Ice Spice "debuted her 'Y2K' album cover yesterday to a largely lukewarm reception, as some felt the design was, well ... let's just say subpar," TMZ detailed.

"The rollout paid homage to Ice's Bronx roots with a subway-themed backdrop and was shot by famed photographer David LaChapelle," the writeup went on to add; "still, lots of fans noted you could barely see the 'Munch' rapper's name or the album title in the chicken-scratch cursive sprayed painted on a trash can."

The fan, Zach DeNobrega, got to work and swiftly reimagined the album's cover art, such that the album title appeared as graffiti displayed prominently on the wall Ice Spice was leaning on, while her name appeared on the sign identifying the New York subway stop that served as the location of the shoot.

"Made it better," DeNobrega posted, showing off his version in a side-by-side comparison with the original.

But Ice Spice didn't take kindly to the revision; she snapped back -Β or, as reports made it seem, snapped, full stop, reposting another of DeNobrega's side-by-side comparisons from when he reimagined the artwork for Mariah Carey's album "Rainbow."

"u thought u made this better too delulu πŸ˜‚πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜," the "In Ha Mood" singer zinged DeNobrega.

The digital creator stood up for himself, replying, "Mind you, I shot my photo alone and edited alone and it still came out cleaner than hers with THEE world's greatest photographer and a TEAM of editors..."

In another post, DeNobrega took aim at Ice Spice directly, riffing on the title of her single "Think U the Shit (Fart)."

But he wasn't in the fight alone. Others leapt to DeNobrega's defense.

"he was trying to help you? 😭" one person responded to Ice Spice's tweet.

"you're such a loser," another chided; "he just made his own version of your cover and you're mad about it?"

"We witnessing the downfall of ice spice this year it's written in stone," someone else posted.

The flap even turned into a marketing opportunity for the digital artist.
