The Biggest Loser: Boot Camp / The Biggest Loser: Weight Loss Yoga
Jim Halterman READ TIME: 2 MIN.
If you're thinking about how to lose unwanted pounds for the new year, the latest "Biggest Loser" DVDs could be the perfect stocking stuffer for you.
As in the popular NBC series, a trainer and contestants from the series provide you with weight burning workouts in the new Biggest Loser: Boot Camp and Biggest Loser: Weight Loss Yoga.
"Biggest Loser" Fitness Expert and Trainer Bob Harper leads the workouts on both DVDs. One of Bob's biggest appeals (besides being super cute!) is that he has a very human, relatable personality that comes across when he's guiding you through the various workouts.
He never talks down to you, and offers modifiers in case some viewers might not be able to do certain things (like touching your toes, for example).
The "Biggest Loser: Weight Loss Yoga" guides you through a six week program for maximum weight loss, and also sets up a program that works for beginners or experts alike. There are also training tips to increase flexibility and strength that will assist you in getting stronger in your yoga practice.
There are also three levels to the six-week program featured on the "Biggest Loser: Boot Camp" DVD. A bit more intense than the Yoga workout, this DVD also can be utilized by both those new to a boot camp-style workout or those who are experts at it.
Also, in the event you don't want the verbal instruction of Bob Harper on either DVD, you can play the same fitness routines with only music and visually follow along with the workout on your television screen. And, finally, each video features fitness tips by Harper, including using a medicine ball and the correct way to use barbells.
One of the appeals of the popular series has always been that the contestants are truly ordinary people who the audience can relate to. Wisely, the producers of the DVD went the same route.
By having the contestants from the show do the workouts instead of having perfectly sculpted model types like many other fitness DVDs, the "Biggest Loser" DVDs are perfect for anyone interested in doing at-home workouts that will make you forget that third piece of pumpkin pie you had over the holidays.
